Encamp
In area, Encamp is the second parish in the Principality and contains sizeable urban centres such as El Tremat, La Mosquera, Vila and Pas de la Casa.
The Comú building, with its ultra-modern concept and architecture, may well surprise the visitor as it breaks completely with the classic Andorran style. It is a dark blue parallelepiped faced with mirrors, which rises proud and challenging in the midst of buildings with centuries of history behind them.
The parish has a great number of lakes, among which those of Engolasters, L'Illa and Montmalús, and its bounds reach the French frontier at the Envalira pass to the north and the Spanish frontier to the south.
Comú
The high slopes of its mountains at 2000 metres in altitude are grazing grounds for the herd of horses and in the spring its meadows are graced by the daffodil, the best known flower in the country and the symbol of the Andorran people.
From the artistic point of view, there is a series of chapels and churches such as Sant Miquel at La Mosquera right in the centre of the village and Santa Eulàlia, the parish church of Encamp, with a 28 metre high bell tower which is the highest in Andorra. A few kilometres away there is the chapel of Sant Romà at Les Bons, a village which holds an 11th and 12th century fortification.
