Other points of interest that are not on the
itinerary include:
- The Andorra Model Museum has made scale models grouping together, a lot
of typical buildings of the Principality: the most representative Romanesque churches,
Casa de la Vall, as well as some altarpieces. (Av. del Pessebre, no. 16).
- The existence of a hot spa, considered to be one of the hottest in
Europe, gave rise to the construction of the first spa hotels, situated in the town of
Escaldes: Hotel Valira, Pla, Carlemany and Muntanya. These buildings are representativa of
a mixture of French and Catalan influences from the Pyrenean bordering areas. However, the
use of local stone, an essential element for the walls of this new architecture, made them
blend into the natural environment. Stylistically, they did not belong to any specific
artistic movement, but rather they were included in a typography of mountain buildings
which retained certain irnportant similarities.
- The Viladomat Museum (Carrer Josep Viladomat, s/n) Tel.: 829340.
